Pre-race comments from:

Windy Hill– “I’ll keep it nice and simple: No hope.”

Bristol Turks – “Iron Maiden is a re-breed so was a little behind some of the others but seems to be caught up well and she is almost where I want her to be for the Sires Produce Final. I find the 2yo Champions Series races are most unpredictable and can throw a surprise or two. That being said Dan’s horse, Skyguard Resident, looks really good, certainly the one to beat. Maiden is in good shape though and she’ll be fighting for one of the places.”

DR Stables – “Skyguard Resident will try to make it 4 for 4 this season, but faces a quality field and anything can happen in a final. Will have a change of jockey and if Numbers Prashad can handle Skyguard Resident they will contend for the win. The field is wide open and can make an argument for a few horses. Believe it will be an exciting and close finish for the win.”

Hareeba – “Have given this mudlark filly every chance to perform well in the Sires final with plenty of trials over the short distances. Her OR and xp should put her in good stead for this in a very competitive field. The one to beat will be Inca’s who has won both prep races for this. Good luck to all in the final.”

Priceless Speedsters – “We look to upset the unblemished Skyguard with his half sister Mudchild from Sos Venezuela. although lurking in the shadows is Hareebas Cold Little Heart. There is my blind choice and with luck a sleeper may rise up. Good luck to everyone.”

Addictive Racing – “Of my 3 races this Friday this is the one I’m least confident about. Skyguard Resident is the one to beat, which Inca has proven by winning all 3 Preview races. Anything can happen in 2yos race but a top 3 finish would be nice here.”

United – “Will be a good race this one with lots of speed on and will depend on who can get a run… I like the look of Cold Little Heart, but all runners will have it all to do against Skyguard. My own Wenger Pulse will have to improve a lot from the prelude a few weeks back but have increased his stride since so let’s see if he can kick when he needs to.”

Desert Wind Stables – “Not sure what to think of the Sires heat and Sleazy Goddess‘ chances. Her stats look decent although slightly stronger top stats for her age than I would normally aim for. Disappointing run in the heat but this is possibly a jockey issue combined with being a little too fat. Basically your guess is as good as mine!”

Raspadora Lodge – “An incredibly tough race to call. Am thinking the winner will be one of Iron Maiden, Skyguard Resident, or the new kid(ess) on the block, Cold Little Heart. My filly ran as well as I could have hoped for in the Prelude, but she’s a ‘Group 3’ type, running in a ‘Group 1’ here.”
