The Aussie Clothing Down Under Short
Just An Illusion?
We have an excellent field of 6yo short runners whom have been running and competing against each other for several seasons now. To show you how competitive it’s been, the cups have been divide out amongst the runners, so what is this Illusion?
Could it be that a lot of the 6yo short runners are so close in abilities that its hard to say one horse should have been able to dominate the age group short circuit?
Secret Aurora, Big Bad Conspiracy, Dante’s Top Eight, Cocoa Babygirl, Valhalla, and Kind of Square, are no illusion when it come to the short distance. Most of these horses in any other season would have probably had 3 to 4 cups wins to there credit by now. But with all of them being so talented and there abilities so close in comparison, one slip up, or one right move can get you out or into the winner circle.
Saying all this if the race track decide to go slow on Saturday, there is a mudlark sprintstar champion, waiting in the wings by the name of Captain Morgan, who would just love to rain on the whole parade.
In my opinion this is the best competitive race on the card Saturday with any one of those horses mention with a chance to surprise.

1. Captain Morgan |
6yo stallion from DR Stables, Career earnings: $4,764,025 Overall rating: Excellent(60) – Mud-lark |
Stable comments: – “Captain Morgan is a true sprinter and is out of his element in the short races. He will be racing for experience only and a top 5 would be a bonus. Secret Aurora from Dixon Racing looks like the horse to beat.”
2. Cocoa Babygirl |
6yo mare from Whispering Death, Career earnings: $1,873,917 Overall rating: Grand(68) – Early sprinter |
Stable comments: – “While the track conditions are unlikely to suit, a decent run and a finish in the places may not be beyond Cocoa Babygirl.”
3. Secret Aurora |
6yo stallion from Dixon Racing, Career earnings: $3,479,311 Overall rating: Tremendous(70) – Competitive |
Stable comments: – “Secret Aurora has come on very well in training this season and should be perfectly suited to this race – he has disappointed in the past and has a few serious challengers in this race so not overly confident but expecting him to run in the top 3. Both stalkers look dangerous along with Rafindale’s Dante’s Top Eight so it’s going to be a very exciting finish.”
4. Valhalla |
6yo stallion from RCS Locos, Career earnings: $1,729,947 Overall rating: Grand(66) – Competitive |
Stable comments: – “This is the race I’m looking forward to the most and believe Valhalla actually has a chance of winning…..and also finish outside the money. Secret Aurora I think might just nick this.”
5. Big Bad Conspiracy |
6yo stallion from Burgersfortheboyz, Career earnings: $2,150,000 Overall rating: Grand(66) – Stalker |
Stable comments: – “A quality field with many chances. The Conspiracy will be looking to sit in behind the leading brigade and be saved for one final dash. The field is so evenly matched coming to the finish line you will nearly be able to throw a blanket over the first few placegetters.”
6. Deck Flap Landon |
6yo stallion from Orillas del YI, Career earnings: $1,025,700 Overall rating: Excellent(63) – Fast finisher |
Stable comments: – “After qualifying in an accessible career given the number of participants, the final is another matter. Let’s tell the jockey come more into the fire and not be so far behind with chances to use force in the final meters. Distance is no problem. A remote surprise. Bet dividend of three digits.”
7. Kind Of Square |
6yo stallion from Get Square Lodge, Career earnings: $1,886,672 Overall rating: Grand(65) – Stalker |
Stable comments: – “Very happy to make the final….not expecting a win by any means but a top five finish would be sensational.”
8. Dante’s Top Eight |
6yo stallion from rafindale, Career earnings: $1,537,647 Overall rating: Grand(67) – Competitive |
Stable comments: – “
