Winning connections: Colt Forty Six – DR Stables – Delila Rutter
Comments from the stable: – “What an exciting race and how fitting that the winners of the last four 2yo Breeders Cup Sprint battled it out for the cup finishing 1st and 2nd. Colt Forty Six is an amazing horse and the boost in stamina this week made the difference. Seahorse Racing is an amazing trainer and to win against him is an amazing feeling. Next up is the 2yo Championship Series Sprint at the end of the season.”

Winning connections: Coming Breaks Luke – Seahorse Racing – Octavio Galanti
Comments from the stable: – “At Seahorse Racing we are very happy and grateful for this win! Coming Breaks Luke did great today, and it warms my heart that this young unstyled colt proves you don’t need to have a racing style to win in style. What you need is heart and this colt has plenty of that!
And yes, he started the race in style using his power to get a good start, but even though he was in front he was running wide and unfortunately took on the first curve from that position resulting in a loss of speed and wasted energy. Jockey Octavio Galanti saw his early error and learned from it. Sacrificing speed, taking full control, carefully navigating the young colt to the inner lane proved to be the right move, and during the second turn he found himself in a perfect position to attack the front runners. First one attack and then quickly after another attack followed on the long straight run home. And it worked! They took on a very impressive Queen Of Pubs, took the lead and quite frankly never looked back.”

Winning connections: Nyquist – DR Stables – Rochelle Peques
Comments from the stable: – “Nyquist finished out a great day for the stable by winning the stables third Breeders Cup of the day. This horse is living up to our expectations and should only get better. Cold Turkey from Pugstable made it interesting at the end, but fortunately Nyquist had enough to win the cup.”

Winning connections: Angel From Hell – DR Stables – Kristal Glunz
Comments from the stable: – “This is a bitter sweet win for the stable. Angel From Hell has been battling IP issues all season and it finally caught up with her. There’s a small amount of blood coming from her nose, so she will take a well deserved and needed rest before she races again. Wasn’t sure what to expect going into the race. There were a lot of questions that needed to be answered. The weather changed during the week and it looked like the track was going to be slow for the final. Was surprised and happy when the track remained dead. The jockey gave Angel a decent ride which was a concern after the last two races. Angel answered the question about her ability and if she would ever win another cup. The question about the trainer is still under review.”

Winning connections: Poseidon – captaincrusoe – Billy Bushwacker
Comments from the stable: – “Absolutely thrilled to have won this race with Billy on top. I was worried that Poseidon would not have enough stamina to hold onto the win and beat the two natural champions, Bright Blessed Day and Out of Luck. I wanted him to jump well and get into a good position, switch off during middle part of the race, and start forward run going into last third of the race.”

Winning connections: Galilei – Shinibana – Maryland Landmesser
Comments from the stable: – “I know the race would been a two horses race between my Galilei and Adlestrop from Woogle Wood stable. They raced side by side in 1000m, then Galilei started to run faster and took the lead with 7 meters. at the end of the race Adlestrop came with a fast finish and almost catched up. But I was lucky and happy to see Galilei winning his sixth world cup!”

Winning connections: Chakra Star – White Star – Alena Assante
Comments from the stable: – “It was exciting to win my first Breeders World Cup, I was quietly confident coming into this race as knew so long as everything went to plan, Chakra Star and Alena Assante could bring it home. Being a Mudlark I was a little worried as was hoping for a wet track because he smashes through the mud. Also thought the race was going to be a bit tougher as was expecting more higher rated horses. Troublemakers Bambera is a good horse and thought that it would be close at the end of the race. Credit to my jockey as he carried out my instructions perfectly. I have trained Chakra Star from birth to get this race and am a little surprised that he won it as an 8yo. Hoping for a couple more big cups from him before he retires. Really enjoying playing TK and feel as though I am starting to get some of my other home bred horses to a standard where hopefully can win a few more World Cups.”
