This race will be a true test for these young stayers who are now starting to find there way in their racing careers. Trainer Woogle Wood skipped the So You Think Cup last season to build experience on his champion 4yo New Terrain, which should pay dividends against what looks like a beatable bunch – one feels that with his regular up, New Terrain would be considered a good thing and it remain to be seen if spoiling tactics actually pay off.
The undefeated Secret Legacy, has great ambition to go after the crown jewel this season. If this son of Secret Aurora out of Secret Solstice can find a way to hurdle this race we may be witnessing something very special. But the task won’t be easy for the 4yo stallion facing some pretty strong epic specialist in the race.
Covenant Woman, from trouble racing stable will have something to say in the outcome after a nice run in last weekend heat and with the added distance it will only be relished.
Queen Of Pubs, ran second to Legacy, in there heat race and will be looking to surpass him at his best leg. Grand Slam, out of Blackjack Farm is a nice bred mare who took it nice and easy in the heat race and will come out slamming for the finals.
Raspberry Ripple, is a mare by Dancin who is starting to find her footing it seems at the right time, look for owner Gavstar to have her somewhere in the mix coming for home.
Tanker Jumper, out of the swindin stable is a horse who has all the tools to be effective, owner swash is no stranger on coming up big in Diamond Cup finals. Even though he has been a bit disappointing, he can be quite dangerous.
