The Fast and Furious Cup

No hanging about today.

The mudlarks will be slugging it out today at London Bridge Racecourse where a five race programme looks set to get the punting grey matter working overtime.

This will be the last time that we will see some of these champions race, and it won’t be a case of arrive and collect. Nine horses line up in the Fast and Furious Cup and the race has a knack of producing thrilling finishes and closely fought contests.

It should be a cracker.

Final Result
Pos Gate Horse Stable Jockey Time

2 3 Aleppo Riddley Walker Racin Mia Pop 1:05.439
3 5 Morpheus Hareeba Ross Treleven 1:05.594
4 8 Jessica Rabbit Magoo’s Fine Equine Helena Kann 1:05.831
5 1 Seething Rain Woogle Wood Lang Lampshire 1:06.125

1. Seething Rain

10yo mare from Woogle Wood, Career earnings: $9,897,861
Overall rating: Majestic(83) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “Her last hurrah, and her toughest task to date. Many dangers, so concerns about everything – the competition is fierce, multiple cup winners from a who’s-who of top TK stables – but I wouldn’t swap her for anything. Several factors suggest she should be more suited to the final than the heat. Cause for hope – not optimism.”

2. Hilikus Coop

9yo stallion from Manor Park Stud, Career earnings: $7,256,830
Overall rating: Majestic(83) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “Had a few with chances in this over the years but found one or two too good on the day. Coop needs a decent start to factor here something he’s struggled a bit with of late. Sprints as always can throw a surprise so have no idea what’ll happen in this. Korhans runs mid 63’s again it could leave the rest of us for dust but then there’s improvement in a few here. Should be a great race whoever wins.”

3. Aleppo

9yo mare from Riddley Walker Racin, Career earnings: $6,562,068
Overall rating: Spectacular(85) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “The fast and furious looks like one of the best cup races we have seen in a while. There is a rivalry from LOWE between MP, Hareeba and myself with our 9 year old mud larks – all cup winners – all rated 87 OR – all with same XP. Throw in Seething Rain, B’s Arctic, Jessica Rabbit etc – all rated above 80 makes it anyone’s race. Hoping my Aleppo can get up – her cup win was in a short, but I think she is a better sprinter ans 1100 is more suitable. Whatever the outcome I would love to see a LOWE trifecta. B’s Arctic was fantastic in the heat, surprising really that it ran down Hareeba’s Morpheus – does not have the XP on slow compared to the others, so it may find it a little tougher in the final .

4. Waka Starr

10yo stallion from spudolphin, Career earnings: $7,727,526
Overall rating: Admirable(59) – Breakaway

Stable comments: – “Should be a great race. Our horse Waka Starr is a little out of his depth in this field but it will be his final race and will be more suited by the distance in the final. Would be happy with a top 5 finish but on its day could possibly push for top 3.”

5. Morpheus

9yo stallion from Hareeba, Career earnings: $7,884,611
Overall rating: Spectacular(85) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “Truly a very open race and there’s multiple chances. Think a little luck is needed by all as this is a very even field. Would be amazing to win in such an elite field!”

6. B’s Arctic

8yo stallion from BIG-B, Career earnings: $7,744,104
Overall rating: Majestic(80) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “

7. Kartalbatur

10yo stallion from Yorulmaz, Career earnings: $11,914,333
Overall rating: Spectacular(87) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “Kartalbatur is the ever best horse that Yorulmaz stable has been bred. He has won three sprinters shield so far and this will be his last chance to win another trophy before retirement. At 17 May Kartalbatur performed 63.42 km/h at 1100m slow. This is a world record for this distance at the slow condition. We have high hopes from the horse. He has under performed at the heats but we are still hopeful. At the end of the day this is a sprint race and anything is possible. Good luck to all competitors.”

8. Jessica Rabbit

10yo mare from Magoo’s Fine Equine, Career earnings: $13,706,949
Overall rating: Marvelous(78) – Mud-lark

Stable comments: – “

9. Molten Bronze

7yo stallion from Untouchables, Career earnings: $2,138,350
Overall rating: Reasonable(54)
