Winning connections: Fog Wiper – Team Monkfish – Tiesha Rohla
Comments from the stable: – “I was absolutely delighted watching Fog Wiper bring home the American Cup trophy – my first ever WC!
The horse was a big 5 million purchase as a 58OR 3y/o and has had hours of time, work and effort put into him! He narrowly missed out on The Crystal Cup a while back, so it feels great to get it right this time around. The race was as competitive as I expected, enabling Foggy to take his place in behind the leaders and fire home in the final quarter with his trademark kick – reaching a top speed of 67.32km/h on the dead track!
Everything fell into place to make the win possible for an 8y/o that is a year or two younger than most his opponents, so he has 2 more attempts to regain the trophy! The win was even more pleasing for me as it was a victory for a smaller stable using a lesser favoured style horse.
Thank you to everyone who has commented/messaged me for all the kind words!”
