Lets kick off the preview with the two very seasoned and successful stables in the race, BIG-B, and Karaka Breeders.

BIG-B enters the race with B’s Riddler, a mudlark perfectly suited to the heavy ground. A slow burner 4th in the 2yo Long Breeders Cup, the 3yo mudlark has just recently strung together 2 wins an given BIG-B has a very impressive Epsom Derby record with 3 epsom wins , it wont shock anyone if B’s Riddler scores his 4th in this season opener for the stayers.

Orfevre, the Karaka Breeders natural champion stepped out for his first start in the heats of the Epsom and was impressive cruising to the line with a bit left in the reserve. So expect a big improvement from this highly rated son of Deynor.

Harvester Of Sorro, a 3yo colt bred out of Riddley Walker Racin, from the hall of fame horse Gravity, is showing promise with his only 2 starts on slow ground and over the epic journey with improvement each time out. So expect this DoubleJ Ranch runner to be in the mix being a very experienced trainer, he will no doubt aim for a top end finish.

Super Mudda, bred out of a 2 time classic winner Epic Flail,  may have the staying potential to go a long way, not only in this cup but those in the future. Given only one start in her career running 2nd behind Orfevre in the heat, I suspect the trainer would have learned quite a bit from her runner so expect a nice run on suitable ground.

Of the rest Temple Of Boom, has some talent maybe lacking experience and the trainer not quite got the jockey and horse on the same page but could show improvement, and if filly can get in the money.

Others in the race may find the going hard as the race will be on a heavy track. But looking at it from face value, the two seasoned champs may fight this one out in the end.

Tips

1. B’s Riddler

2. Orfevre

3. Super Mudda
