4 | 4 | All In | Blackjack Farms | Janella Almen | 2:04.563 |
5 | 8 | Shop Gaper | Shady signs | Avril Timmermann | 2:05.390 |
Post race comments from:
Winner: – Dixon Racing – “Emperor was running on heart alone in the final 100 metres and somehow Pierre kept him rolling to hold off a powerful challenge from Dictator. That is his long racing career done and we now buckle down into preparing him for epic cups.”
Others: – Rubin Jets – “Came into the final straight exactly where you would want him as a stalker — running third and in close touch. The disappointment was he blew up after taking Dictator and couldn’t offer a challenge to Secret Emperor in the final run in. He had nothing left and not only lost second place to Dictator, but was fortunate to hang on to third. I thought Blackjack’s All In beat him on the line, but TK photo finishes produce some strange results.”
Others: – win the day – “A disappointing 2nd from Dictator, and a nice win for Secret Emperor.”

Post race comments from:
Winner: – Dixon Racing – “Sentinel looked dead and buried 200 metres out but Pilar produced him at the perfect time to mow them down on the wire. A little sheepish now as we once again broke Rhed’s heart – Noble Egyptian looked a winner everywhere but on the line.”
Others: – trouble racing – “Not sure where the stable goes from here after another poor result in a big race. Disappointed!”
Others: – Priceless Speedsters – “We thought we would’ve placed better but just didn’t unfold in our favor. Congratulations to Secret Sentinel on the victory. Back to the drawing board and see you guys/gals down the road.”
Others: – Desert Wind Stables – “What did I say? Some darn ‘secret’ horsey snuck passed Noble Egyptian on the line just as I thought I had a chance! I think it really is time for me to deploy that stable spy!”

Winner: – Burgersfortheboyz – “When apprentice Mana Mentzel first approached our stable for employment our first thought was that he had mistaken our organisation for Burger King, as he sure looked like he enjoyed a burger or two (54kg). However, we decided to give him a crack and we are thrilled that he has returned our faith with a fantastic World Cup trophy. Congrats also to Windy and Willow for their honourable podium finish. Ofcourse all this would not have been possible without the kind sponsorship of Smogville who deserves the biggest shout out. Cheers Smoggie.”
Others: – Windy Hill – “F@^&ing 2nd for the fourth f*&$ing time!”
Others: – Mane Equestrian – “An absolute cracker of a race. Although I am very happy with the place cheque in a big field I picked up a small injury otherwise I think I could have been more competitive.”
Others: – The Willow’s Elite – “What an exciting race. Many thanks to Smoggie for sponsoring as this race is always such a highlight.”

Post race comments:
Winner: – Karaka Breeders – “Thrilled with the win because i was expecting a top 5 or even top 3 finish. she’s been underperforming a little as the stable had high expectations due to her OR although her stat balance wasn’t what you’d expect from a NC so it did take time. But she’s finally come good.”
Others: – Woogle Wood – “Many congrats to Karaka’s monster, top tactics in stealing a march on the opposition – well done. Look forward to renewing rivalry again.”
Others: – River Rat Stables – “River Rat Stables was well pleased with the 5th place finish by Rough Weifght in the Diamond Cup. RW was clearly moving up in class and fared well against stronger competition than she was accustomed to. She probably could have been ridden harder in the early stages but jockey and horse were new to cup racing and a little tentative.”

5 | 3 | Hercules Starz | woodchuckers | Britt Hangartner | 1:25.332 |
Post race comments:
Winner: – St Simon Racing – “Really stoked with the win. I was worried at the five furlong mark when I saw Moonlight’s stalker starting to move up, but by that time mine had build up a nice lead. Special thanks to the sponsors. We appreciate the real money that you guys put into the game.”
Others: – Moonlight Stables – ” Moonlight Special has been chasing Captain’s Quest for so long, I’m not sure if he knows how to pass him! LOL. We’ll get you next time! (maybe ). Am proud of the effort put forth by my stalker. He turned in a blazing fast final quarter and ended up just short of taking over the lead. Maybe on another day. Captains Quest is a well trained horse and it will take a ‘special’ run from Moonlight Special to beat him. Looking forward to the next match-up.”
Others: – DR Stables – “Village Idiot closed well, but it just wasn’t good enough. Congrats to The Captain and his horse Captains Quest.”
