Winning connections: Libra Starz – woodchuckers – Avril Timmermann
Comments from the stable: – “Very pleased by the run and the win. I expected a fast pace early maybe even one or 2 to breakaway on the heavy with others looking to swoop late. But Libra was a bit light for a final so I was hoping she could just be near the leading pack and be in the mix at the business end.”

Winning connections: Secret Domination – Secret Revolution – Pierre Strydom
Comments from the stable: – “Very happy with the way Domination is coming on – his prep was a bit rushed and it was always going to be difficult to beat Angel’s Flight – The combination of Stalker style and impressive jock Pierre Strydom got us across the line in a very tight finish. Thrilled to win my first 2yo cup!”

Winning connections: Bravado – Seahorse Racing – Della Wesche
Comments from the stable: – “We’re really pleased with this win! An unexpected win. Yes, there was hope, and there was a strategy to get there, but although it may seem strange to read this, entering this race really was a last minute decision for us. And it only happened because, by chance, our medium runner Hotblood was running in the Champagne Stakes at the very same track. This way Bravado could use that same jockey! We gave it a go because we were super curious about testing the Stalker style. Definitely no regrets there as our jockey and horse executed our game plan to perfection! Such a pleasure to see it unfold!
Being a late week 3 foal bred specifically for style and genes, this race never was a main goal though, so it wasn’t really well prepared for this race either, and starting from gate 15 with a jockey casted for another horse it wasn’t given great cards to begin with. But that’s where the Stalker style is unique! Given a good game plan it can make something out of nothing.”

Winning connections: Jaguar – ghanainternational – Curtis Weinzetl
Comments from the stable: – “Jaguar‘s sire Secret Phantom is a double world cup winner, so I always thought Jaguar would be a decent horse. Jaguar ran a good race and I am very happy with the win, he will now go for the Guinness.”

Winning connections: Reds Tokyo Ghoul – Reds Breeding Stud – Jody Schulenberg
Comments from the stable: – “I am very proud of Ghouls performance. I returned to the game after more or less a four year break and was very eager to participate in world cups again, but I didn’t have the horses to do so, the only half hope was Tokyo Ghoul who was trained for stud duties and thoughtlessly so at that! The TK open in his 10 year old season was ear marked as his goal and he really did it in style.”

Winning connections: Rollin In The Deep – Bristol Turks – Bree Vascones
Comments from the stable: – “It was a very competitive field with some real good quality horses and trainers so very pleased Rollin managed to hold on to get the win. Rollin keeps on surprising me, she’s just a proper little cup runner. I came close a couple of times in this event so it feels great to have finally won it.”

Winning connections: Requiem – Bristol Turks – Marx Varughese
Comments from the stable: – “I wasn’t hopeful before the race as the track has been slow all week and only just turned Dead on the day. And I’m no expert when it comes to Epic races so the race instructions had been set and reset many times. I’m very pleased with the way Requiem ran at the end and very happy with the win.”
